Homemade Coconut Milk Shampoo and Body Wash

If you want to live a healthier and toxin-free life, the first thing you need to do is to check your health and beauty products. Shampoos, body washes, soaps and various creams are often full of toxins and chemicals that damage the body after prolonged use.

Looking for alternatives to these products is another problem as they are not easy to find. Preparing homemade beauty products is the best way to control the ingredients and their quality, and they are also cheaper than the commercial products.

This article presents homemade natural recipes that can be used for your body and hair. One of them started out as a shampoo, but after using it, we found out that it is also a great body wash. It contains only three natural ingredients, so you don’t have to use those shampoos with 20-30 chemical ingredients ever again. These recipes are safe, toxin-free and work better than the commercial products.

The three recipes in this article are just a start – there are literally hundreds of different products you can prepare at home. The scents depend on your choice of essential oils which you can combine with various flavors that suit you best. The recipes below are a tea tree shampoo for dry and flaky scalp, an herbal blend shampoo and body wash, and a citrus vanilla mint shampoo and body wash.

Using these natural homemade shampoos will eliminate the need for a conditioner afterwards, as they soften and improve the quality of the hair. It will comb easier and won’t tangle so much. If you feel the need for a conditioner, use some apple cider vinegar diluted in water, or apply a small amount of virgin coconut oil.

Mix the ingredients together and put the mixture into a bottle (squirt bottles or plastic pump bottles).
