Common Hair Dyes are Full of Cancer-Causing Chemicals! Here’s What To Use Instead

According to British scientists, hair dyes which are widely used by women worldwide contain chemicals which have been linked with cancer. Dyes used at home and even those used in luxurious hair saloons are serious health threat, the scientists warn.

These scientists further explain that the chemicals found in hair dyes might react with tobacco smoke and other pollutants, forming one of the most potent cancer-causing compounds.

Given that over one third of women and one in ten men color their hair on a regular basis, it is “imperative” that the risk to health is quantified.

But, the manufactures of cosmetics are strongly against this claim.

The scientists who warn again these chemicals work at Leeds-based Company Green Chemicals and their review regarding hair dyes shows strong link between this product and the development of cancer.

The chemicals present in hair dyes, also known as secondary amine,  are either already present in the dye or are formed later. They have the ability to penetrate deeply into the skin and stay there for a long time.

Eventually, they may react with tobacco smoke and other pollutants, forming poisonous chemicals known as N-nitrosamines.

Hair dyes are linked to various cancers, including breast, bladder, and brain cancer as well as leukemia. In addition to this, many people are allergic to the chemicals found in these dyes, which may lead to fatal consequences.

What`s the Alternative?

The good news is that there is safer alternative available! Using coffee mixture helps get the desired color and stimulate hair growth. This fact is backed up by science and confirmed in a study published in the January 2007 issue of the International Journal of Dermatology.

  • Use organic coffee since non-organic coffee ground may contain chemicals
  • Prepare the coffee and then allow it to cool down
  • Mix 2 cups of natural conditioner with a cup of cold brewed coffee and 2 tbsp of organic coffee
  • Apply the mixture on the hair and let it work for an hour!
Simple Coffee Rinse
  • Shampoo the hair and then pour coffee over it. Let it work for about twenty minutes before rinsing it off with apple cider vinegar

In case you are not satisfied with the results, repeat the procedure for a few consecutive days.
